Tom Cruise on `Mission' outside tallest spire

Thomas Cruise Mapother IV (born July 3, 1962), better known by the name of Tom Cruise, is an American film actor and producer. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards and won three Golden Globe Awards. Mainly he is known by action hero.

Actor Tom Cruise has literally reached a pinnacle of his career in Dubai — dangling from the world's tallest building.

Cruise was spotted tethered to a line near the top of the nearly half-mile-high Burj Khalifa during stunt filming for the latest installment of the "Misssion: Impossible" series.

Local media reports on Tuesday included photos of the black-clad Cruise as he was striding over the front of the glass-and-steel spire on Monday.

The new film, "Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol" will prominently feature scenes from Dubai as well as Moscow and Vancouver. It's scheduled for release in December 2011.
